Introduce your baby to a wide variety of vegetables and fruits during weaning. They will help contribute to a healthy balanced diet, providing essential vitamins and minerals. As weaning progresses, you should aim to provide at least 5 different vegetables and fruits a day. Portion sizes will be smaller than those recommended for adults in the ‘5 a day’ campaign, but as a guide a toddler will probably have around 40g as a portion.
Stir the contents of jar using a plastic spoon, put required amount into a clean bowl. Serve at room temperature or
stand in hot water to warm. If using a microwave, take care. Always check temperature before feeding. For advice on when to start weaning, consult your Health Visitor. Enjoy as part of a varied and balanced weaning diet, together with baby’s usual milk.
Replace cap after use, keep refrigerated, use within 3 days. Never re-heat baby foods.
