Important Feeding Information

• Only use the scoop provided in the pack.
• Do not make feeds weaker or stronger than indicated by adding extra water/scoops, and do not add anything else to milk feeds.
• For hygiene reasons, always prepare feeds freshly and do not prepare them in advance. Use made-up feeds immediately, and discard anything leftover at the end of the feed or 2 hours after preparation.
• Do not heat feeds in a microwave; hot spots may occur which could cause scalding.
• Please clean your baby’s teeth regularly when they appear.
• Use the tin within 3 weeks of opening.

Preparing the feed
Please follow preparation and feeding instructions carefully; failure to do so may make your baby ill, as powdered milks are not sterile.
 
1. Wash hands and sterilise all equipment following the manufacturers' instructions.
2. Boil 1 litre of freshly run water and leave to cool for no longer than 30 minutes. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.
3. Measure the required amount of water into a sterilised bottle (referring to the Feeding Guide).
4. Using the scoop provided add the correct number of scoops of powder – 1 level scoop of powder to each fluid ounce of water (approx. 30 ml). Level off the powder using the scoop leveller. Do not press the powder.
5. Place the sterilised teat and cap on the bottle and shake well until all the powder has dissolved (approx. 15 seconds).
6. Cool to drinking temperature (approx. 37 °C) by holding the bottle under cold
running water. Transfer the milk to a beaker if required and feed immediately. ALWAYS test the temperature of the milk before feeding.
 
Storage information:
Store in a cool dry place – do not refrigerate.
Use tin within 3 weeks of opening.
HiPP Organic growing up milk is packed in a protective atmosphere.

What is the difference between stage 2 and stage 3 milk?

Stage 2 milk is designed to provide the nutrients your baby needs alongside a varied weaning diet, when they are not being breastfed. It is suitable from the age of 6+ months and has been developed to meet the nutritional needs of older infants and contain higher levels of some nutrients, such as Vitamin D and iron.

Stage 3 growing up milks are designed to complement your toddlers’ diet from the age of 12+ months when they are not breastfed. Stage 3 milks are fortified with important nutrients, such as vitamins C, D and calcium.

HiPP GUM 3 is designed as an alternative to whole cow's milk for toddlers and children over 12+ months.

GUM 3 is suitable from the age of 12+ months, as part of your toddler’s diet, when they are not being breastfed.

Is stage 3 milk necessary?

We know everyone has different experiences and wants to do the very best for their little ones. Growing up milk is a choice that’s right for some families. Some parents choose to transition their little ones onto it if they’re happy on HiPP follow on milk 6m+ and it complements their diets as they grow. Growing up milk is fortified with important nutrients, such as vitamins C and D and calcium. 

Growing up and toddler milks are marketed as an alternative to whole cows’ milk for toddlers and children over 12+ months. Whole cow's milk is a suitable choice as a main drink for your child from age 1.
