Much more than organic

Why choose HiPP Organic?

Only the finest, gentle organic ingredients make it into HiPP Organic’s formula milk – gentle because no pesticides are used in the pastures where our cows graze.

What does it mean to be organic? It means we’re working with nature, not against it. As pioneers in organic farming for more than 60 years and one of the largest organic farmers in the world, we take our role as environmental stewards very seriously. HiPP only uses milk from farms that fully comply with the guidelines of organic farming, where the cows are fed on natural grass, hay and grains to ensure the best organic quality of our milk.

The ingredients and allergy information is correct at time of issue and is checked on a regular basis, but we always recommend that you check the product label for ingredient information.
Preparing the feed

Please follow preparation and feeding instructions carefully; failure to do so may make your baby ill, as powdered milks are not sterile.

  • Wash hands and sterilise all equipment following the manufacturers' instructions.
  • Boil 1 litre of freshly run water and leave to cool for no longer than 30 minutes. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.
  • Measure the required amount of water into a sterilised bottle (referring to the Feeding guide).
  • Using the scoop provided add the correct number of scoops of powder – 1 level scoop of powder to each fluid ounce of water (approx. 30 ml). Level off the powder using the scoop leveller. Do not press the powder.
  • Place the sterilised teat and cap on the bottle and shake well until all the powder has dissolved (approx. 15 seconds).
  • Cool to drinking temperature (approx. 37 °C) by holding the bottle under cold running water, and feed immediately.
  • ALWAYS test the temperature of the milk before feeding.
Storage information:
Store in a cool dry place – do not refrigerate.
Use sachet within 3 weeks of opening.

What is first infant formula milk?

HiPP’s first infant milk is a nutritionally complete breastmilk substitute, suitable from birth, and contains all the nutrients your baby needs if they are not being breastfed. The only food recognised by the World Health Organisation as a suitable and safe alternative to breastmilk is a scientifically developed infant formula.

Is HiPP Organic combiotic first infant milk BPA-free?

Yes. We only choose packaging that is completely safe, which is why we do not use substances such as BPA in any of our HiPP packaging.

How can I store HiPP Organic's first infant milk formula powder?

We recommend that HiPP formula powder is stored within its original sachet and sealed after every use.  It should be stored in a cool, dry place. You can buy a milk storage box to help keep the powder secure.

What do I need when formula feeding away from home?

There are two ways to make formula feeding away from home safe and easy. The simplest way is to take bottles of ready-to-feed formula with you, together with sterilised feeding bottles with caps and retaining rings in place.

Alternatively, you can make up feeds while you’re out if you carry them with you:

  • A measured amount of formula powder in a clean, dry container. (If you are planning to make up more than one feed, it is easiest to take separate containers of powder for each feed so it is pre-measured and ready to go.)
  • A thermos of just-boiled water. This does not need to be sterilised but should be clean and only used for your baby. Fill it to the fill line so that it retains the heat better. If the flask is full and sealed, the water should stay above 70˚C for several hours.

Make up the fresh feed when your baby needs it, and remember to cool the bottle and test the temperature of the milk before you feed your baby.

How many bottles can 800g of formula make?

The number of bottles made from an 800gm box of formula milk will depend on the size of the bottle that you are making as well as the formula you are using.

On the back of the boxes, the guidance will confirm the weight of powder per scoop and if you divide that number into 800gm, this will give you the approximate number of scoops per box.

As an example: First Infant Milk – 800gm divided by 4.3gm per scoop = approximately 186 scoops.  If you are using 5 scoops per feed (150ml of water) then divide 186 by 5 = approximately 37 bottles of 150ml per box.
